This week is Holy Week and we have a few events this week to celebrate Easter! On Easter Sunday March 27, we will have two services to celebrate the resurrection of Jesus Christ. Our services are at 9:30 am and 11:15 am. Additionally after the second service, we will be celebrating baptisms as well. We welcome you to stay for that!
We have a couple events going on before Easter Sunday. On Friday March 25, we will have our Good Friday service at 7:00pm. This is a time where we reflect on Jesus’ trial and crucifixion on the cross. It is also a chance for us to celebrate His sacrifice for us. We would love for you to join us.
The next day on Saturday March 26, we will joining in part with the city of Monterey Park’s Easter Egg Hunt. It’s a great event for the kids to go around the park looking for Easter eggs while us families can mingle and enjoy a day out with our community.
And of course this Sunday is Easter Sunday. For those who are new to Trinity and may be curious about who we are what we will be doing, here are some common FAQs about us. We hope that this answers some questions you may have.
WHAT IS TRINITY CHURCH ABOUT?
Our identity and mission is simple: Trinity Church of the Nazarene is a multicultural, multigenerational, Christian church in Monterey Park, CA. Our vision is simple: to make disciples of Jesus Christ who are devoted to loving God, loving people, and changing our world for the better!
We celebrate Jesus Christ and what He has done for us as our Savior. Easter commemorates His resurrection and our relationship with Him in eternal salvation. Plus we just love being with each other and we’d love for you to hang out with us.
WHAT IS SERVICE GOING TO BE LIKE ON EASTER?
We offer two services: 9:30am and 11:15am; come join us for either of them. Our services are about 90 minutes and we normally start off with several songs of worship and our Lead Pastor Albert Hung will share the Easter message with the congregation. We invite you to sit anywhere you like in the sanctuary during service. All are welcome to join us on this special day.
WILL THERE BE OFFERING AND DO I HAVE TO GIVE?
We routinely give people an opportunity to express their love for God and devotion to His purposes by presenting a financial gift during our worship services, which we refer to as “tithes and offerings.” These funds support the local and global ministry of our church. The Bible teaches that giving should be a joyful act of worship and thanksgiving, and therefore is always entirely voluntary.
WHAT’S THE PARKING SITUATION LIKE?
We don’t have a big parking lot in our church and that normally fills up fast. Since our church is located within a residential area, there should be plenty of available street parking spots around the block. You can also go across the street to George Elder Park and use their parking lot there. We will have parking attendants at church who can point you to the best locations to park.
Because parking may take a while, we would suggest you plan to arrive about 10-15 minutes before service begins.
WHAT SHOULD I WEAR?
Since we are a multicultural and multigenerational church, we celebrate that and invite you to be you. We have had people wear suits to service while others have come in T-shirt and shorts. Be comfortable. Come in whatever outfit you have and normally wear. You don’t need to dress up for service, just come as you are.
DO YOU PROVIDE SUNDAY SCHOOL FOR CHILDREN?
We do offer Sunday School — we call it Kids Service — for children so parents don’t have to worry about them during service. There will be a table in the patio as you come into our courtyard where you can get more information and meet some of our teachers who will be with your children during service.
But if you prefer to have your entire family with you during service, we welcome that as well. We love to see entire families together during service.
DO I HAVE TO SIGN UP FOR ANYTHING OR BE REQUIRED TO COME BACK AGAIN?
There is no requirement to sign up for anything or obligation to return again. Our Easter service is a chance for you to check us out and if you want to come back again, that’s great. If you don’t think our church is right for you, that’s OK too. If you do want to stay in touch and be updated on what other services we provide, you can fill out a CONNECTION CARD during service. We would love to stay in touch with you.
WHERE CAN I FIND OUT MORE ABOUT TRINITY?
Our website provides more information on the services we offer and our history. We also have our sermons from previous Sundays uploaded onto our site so you can preview what our services are like.
We’re also on social media and you can connect with us for updates from the church.
We hope this answers some questions you may have. If you have any other questions, feel free to leave a comment or send us an email to firstname.lastname@example.org
We hope to see you this week!
